“No Longer There”
This is an aria created for two vocalists. The bassoon and oboe are sitting in for the singers.
The theme for this piece is a recurring one for me. The biggest tragedy for a romantic heart is to remain silent when you should speak up. I have lost my chance of love more than once because of poor decisions and a fear of failure. In this case, a woman was waiting but he was too late. I ‘put it out there’ a little too late. She was no longer there.

“Rhapsody”
I really don’t have a story for this. It’s a very loose structure open for interpretation. I’d rather you envisioned your own. :)

“An Ordinary Waltz”
The inspiration for this piece is the idea that any song, sight, smell or feeling can invoke the best of memories. They can also remind you of painful moments as well, but this piece specifically tells the story of a person who lost their lover to death and is reminded of them every time the waltz is played. The story seems sad, and the haunting opening certainly reflects it, but it ends with the person’s satisfaction that he has known love and is ready to finally love again. It ends with him/her having hope.

“It Could Be Today”
The majority of the lyrics were penned my Mr. Simeone. This is an instrumental version with an oboe performing what will be the vocal line. I’m thinking this may open the new CD because of the “anticipation” feel, whatever that means. A mostly positive song with a twist.
Check out MarcusSimeone.com for updates on an amazing vocalist.
